Small Framework. Massive Sound

RCF NXL 14-A Compact Active Point Source Speaker is the most compact active speaker in the professional NXL series. Offered in a sleek black or white finish, this point source speaker is engineered for clarity, power, and versatility in any live setting or installation. Ideal for vocal reproduction, it excels in compact live systems paired with SUB Series subwoofers, immersive setups, or as a reliable fill speaker. The NXL 14-A delivers professional audio performance where it matters most.

Power that moves

The most powerful amplifier in its class. RCF's improvements in transducer design make them stronger and more powerful. With 2,100W of power, the NXL MK2 2-channel Class-D amplifier is 50% more powerful than previous models. NXL manages extreme sound pressure levels with an ultra-fast attack, realistic transient response, and very low power loss. NXL modules are energy efficient, so there's no need for a cooling fan. The amplifier is attached to a solid aluminum heat exchanger at the rear of the enclosure, which has no moving parts. The input circuit features a new low-distortion design with an advanced safety limiter, maintaining the true character of the input signal at all levels. All NXL amplifiers are designed according to EN62368-1 for maximum safety and house a Switch Mode Power Supply section with minimum weight.

High Frequencies

The 1.75" compression driver features a newly developed dome made of PKX (Modified Polyether Ether Ketone). PKX is a rigid yet lightweight colorless organic polymer. It is possibly the best of the thermoplastic resin films for their specification in audio applications. Developed by the RCF Precision Transducers laboratory and enhanced with reinforcing ribs for high-performance slim dome designs, this new compression driver offers greater precision and reliability.

Low Frequencies

The dual woofer configuration features two 6” neodymium woofers designed for robust bass performance. The cone is crafted from water-resistant fiber-doped material, ensuring durability and consistent sound quality in various environments. It also includes a polycotton M-roll surround which enhances its efficiency and overall audio output. Additionally, the hypervented magnetic structure allows for better cooling and improved power handling, resulting in a clearer and more reliable sound reproduction.

Superior Directivity

Symmetrically aligned transducers ensure coherent wavefront projection and smooth response, providing consistent directional control in both horizontal and vertical orientation. The rotatable 100º x 70º waveguide produces precise, constant coverage. This special configuration allows for excellent control of directional characteristics, significantly increasing intelligibility in difficult acoustic environments.

Built for everyday use

Designed as the ideal portable sound system for daily use, the NXL 14-A offers a variety of features for professional users. The weatherproof enclosure is constructed from high-strength plywood and coated with robust, scratch-resistant polyurea paint. Its sleek look provides ultimate flexibility for tight spaces and small stages with extreme power and without blocking critical sightlines. A strong powder-coated metal grille protects the front, while an acoustically transparent foam backing inside the grille shields against dust and humidity.

Rig it anywhere

With multiple rigging accessories and the unobtrusive form factor of the cabinet, NXL 14-A is suitable for a wide range of configurations including hanging, pole-, truss-, wall- or ceiling-mounting— at any angle in horizontal or vertical orientation. The rotatable waveguide (and rotatable logo) allows for perfect dispersion control at any position.

Rigging the speaker is quick and straightforward. The convenient Quick Fit socket at the top and bottom of the enclosure allows for rapid attachment to accessories. No matter the setup, you'll always find a spot for the NXL 14-A.

Tour Ready Construction

Attached to a solid machined aluminum structure on the rear panel, the amplifier ensures efficient heat dissipation. The enclosure is internally reinforced and sturdy, equipped with waterproof powerCON® TRUE1 TOP mains connectors, guaranteeing durability under any outdoor conditions.

Bass Motion Control

When searching for an extended bass with enhanced performance, RCF engineers found a way to remove the high-pass filter, replacing it with a forward-thinking approach. Introducing BMC (Bass Motion Control), the newly advanced woofer excursion management feature. The speaker equipped with BMC can handle the lowest audible frequencies without affecting the woofer stability, with extended linearity and better sound integrity.

The BMC method works by creating a complete map of the dynamic behavior of the woofer, to generate a custom algorithm that only limits over-excursions. This gives total freedom of signal reproduction to the transducer. When high-pass filters normally protect the woofer motion from becoming destructive but change the phase behavior, the new BMC algorithm breaks conventional rules.

New perspective on linearity

RCF speakers are designed using a proprietary and advanced digital FiR technology, conceived to deliver transparent sound, absolute clarity, and perfect imaging to the listener.

The special FiRPHASE filters allow for coherent distribution of sound for all listeners without phase distortions, ensuring minimum latencies in the system.
